One of the biggest challenges in live webcasting is maintaining good audio sync. The best way to do that is keep CPU load down.
We have seen incidences of CPU use spiking to 80-90% in the past week (You can run activity monitor on your Mac which will show CPU usage) – and the result is always the same: stuttery fade transitions & de-sync of audio. Luckily a little research has shown how to avoid this problem: DO NOT USE LIVE TITLER.
Live Titler is an animation program that comes outside of Wirecast. A quick web search will show that people have been struggling with this program for quite a while – I found one incidence where a user was able to peak his Mac’s CPU to 100% by just loading blank titles from Live Titler. There are MANY other ways to achieve great looking effects / titling without using Live Titler. They are:
1) Use the Titling program included with Wirecast (Text or Title under Add Overlays).
2) Create artistic stuff in photoshop, save out as PNG (Hint: Use the Film & Video 1920×1080 template, position your graphics & export as transparent PNG).
3) Use video / MP4 files as transitions.
